Twenty five years ago, Dr. Simon Yu, a board-certified medical doctor specializing in internal medicine, found himself working at an HMO prescribing drugs that masked the symptoms of disease, but did not cure disease. He had reached a turning point in his career and decided to research what is known as integrative medicine — a path that combines natural therapies with conventional methods. Integrative medicine seeks to achieve healing with therapies that stimulate the body’s own mechanisms of rebuilding and repair. This book contains a detailed account of his discoveries in the United States and Europe, and how he learned to diagnose and treat underlying causes of chronic diseases.
