Pingfan Liu studied for five years and graduated in 1987 from Hubei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (T.C.M.) in Wuhan, China. After two years working in a hospital of TCM, in 1992 he received his postgraduate degree at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China.
He became a specialist in integration of Western Medicine and Chinese Medicine and worked in Shanghai Chronic Hepatitis Research Center (SCHRC) associated with Shanghai 8th Hospital. In 1994, he came to Washington University School of Medicine at St. Louis for medical research. In 2003, he began his practice in the USA.
Dr. Liu is a licensed acupuncturist in the State of Missouri (L.Ac) and certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He had training and experience for 12 years in China and two years of clinical practice in the USA. He has extensive knowledge in Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.
